Wild Echo ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use wildecho.app.
What we collect
- Audio recordings, uploaded voluntarily for species analysis. Used only to generate your report. Not shared with third parties.
- Location data. GPS coordinates attached to recordings (optional). Used to match your recording to local species data.
- Account information, email address and property name when you sign up.
- Usage data, pages visited, features used. Collected via analytics to improve the platform.
How we use your data
- To generate species identification reports
- To send alerts when invasive species are detected at your registered sites
- To contribute anonymised biodiversity observations to the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), you can opt out
- To improve our AI detection models
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal data
- We do not share identifiable recordings without your consent
- We do not use your data for advertising
Data storage
Your data is stored on Australian servers. Audio files are retained for 90 days then deleted unless you have an active subscription. You can request deletion at any time by emailing info@wildecho.app.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services: iNaturalist (species data), Atlas of Living Australia (biodiversity database), eBird/Cornell Lab (bird data), Open-Meteo (weather), NASA FIRMS (fire alerts), Stripe (payments), Resend (email).
